Since the time of my early classes at Primary and High School I was always attracted by Literature and I developed a true passion for writing. Indeed my early life-plan was that of becoming a writer. Yet my father managed to ignite my interest in Natural Sciences and in Mathematics as well and I followed the career of a scientist. In no way I regret such a choice and I am immensely grateful to my deceased parent for it. Nevertheless the passion for Literature, for History and Classical Ancient Languages never vanished and just waited the convenient time to express itself and flourish. The opportunity came in the 90.s of the XXth century when I was established as a Full Professor at SISSA and later at Torino University and I could find enough time to write in parallel to my scientific activity. It was a long gestation and my first two novels appeared in eBook version published by SIMONELLI EDITORE in the years 2006-2008. Since that time I continued to develop my writing experience both in the literary storytelling and in the essay nofiction format.
Sin dal tempo della mia educazione nella Scuola Media ed al Liceo Classico sono stato fortemente attratto dalla Letteratura ed ho sviluppato una forte passione per la scrittura con ambizioni letterarie. Così il mio programma di vita originario era quello di diventare uno scrittore. Tuttavia mio padre riuscì ad accendere in me un altrettanto forte interesse per le Scienze Naturali e la Matematica e così intrapresi e seguii una carriera scientifica. In nessun modo mi pento e rammarico di tale scelta, sono anzi immensamente grato al mio defunto genitore per averla stimolata. Cionondimeno la passione per la Letteratura, per la Storia e le Lingue Antiche Classiche non si è mai spenta e ha atteso il tempo opportuno per potersi esprimere a fiorire. L'opportunità è venuta negli anni 90 del XX secolo quando mi ero già stabilito come Professore Ordinario di Fisica Teorica alla SISSA e più tardi all'Università di Torino, riuscendo a trovare tempo sufficiente per scrivere, in parallelo alla mia attività scientifica. Fu una lunga gestazione e i miei due primi romanzi apparvero in versione eBook per i tipi di SIMONELLI EDITORE negli anni 2006-2008. Da quel momento ho continuato a sviluppare le mie esperienze letterarie sia come narratore che come saggista.
My literary works were all written in Italian, yet the new perspectives opened by the effectiveness of DeepL automatic translations and my command of the English language which I have used the whole of my life in my scientific activity have stimulated my project of preparing English versions of all my books by carefully editing and modifying English drafts initially produced with DeepL. This is an ongoing demanding project of a considerable amplitude to which I have assigned high priority in my efforts.
